I guess rebuilding a program and winning doesn't matter to some

We do appreciate it but that doesn't make it any more laughable to dismiss someone's bowl record for having won infinitely more bowl games than Taggart, to diminish the lack of conference championships when the other has never won one while always playing in a diminished conference here, that we should ignore that most years here were a failure sans one year based on one recruiting class (not as good as CJL's best that he never got to use) and that after 148 games CWT would have to win 39 straight in order to match records. It is an insane argument to even attempt to begin to compare them and only speaks to how far we fell after we dismissed CJL.

Honestly,

His contribution demonstrating that you CAN build a hell of a football team at USF post-CJL is huge. Keeps the hope alive for a good amount of fans that we are not totally doomed for eternity.

he got paid more than double what we paid him. nobody in their right mind passes that up.

oh and oregon actually paid us to take him as opposed to us paying him to not coach.

Anyone mad at him for taking paydays is too big of an idealist but that doesnt change the fact that he only one time caught lighting in a bottle for a single season and you cannot somehow extrapolate that to an entire career when the rest of his rather extensive record laughs in the face of that.

you don't appreciate it at all.

You can believe Taggart was a good coach here while also believing Leavitt is the godfather of the program. They are not mutually exclusive.

You on the other hand constantly try to tear Taggart down. Like you have to defend Leavitt's legacy.

Fact is Taggart was very good for this program. Maybe not to the same level as Leavitt but definitely a good coach for us.

Urban Meyer won a national championship at Florida, CWT beat Temple on his way to a sub .500 record and zero bowl games while playing in a crap conference, I hope that helps to explain the difference for you but the good news is I still have 8 hrs of flight time to help remediate it if need be.

Taggart built the first team to finish ranked at USF. Again you will never see the good he did here because you are too busy defending Leavitt's legacy. Fact is they were both good for this program.

For sure but that he did it exactly one time at exactly one place for exactly one year is why it is laughable to extrapolate it into something amazing while diminishing a comparable that is better in every single measurable.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
