Problem with getting other G5 coaches is they might be able to just go to a p5 team so why go to another G5 team.

Might have to follow the model that's worked with UCF.  Former p5 coach that was fired for unrealistic expectations of winning....or top ranked OC from a high power P5 offense.

UCF has been successful because even though they've had 3 different HCs, they persisted what worked. Our hires have flipped the progrum on its head 3 times over.

Well Strong sucked at Texas and Scott wasn't even the OC.

You think it was unrealistic for CCS to maintain the level of success (or even get close) that he inherited or for CJS to show improvement in 3 seasons?

Correct, so that oft-stated need for a coach to have x years to get their players and x years to install their system needs to end.  If you can't hire a guy creative and intelligent enough to look at the base talent and start/continue building we don't need ya.

No, I was being sarcastic... @BayIslandBull posted a description that fits our last two coaches.

Exactly, any coach that says in the interview he can turn this thing around in 3 years should automatically be eliminated

To show improve the next coach would only have to win one FBS in 10 games or 2  fbs games in a season. The bar is pretty low. IF the coach goes .500 next year in the new AAC he looks like the best for USF since CJL. LEts just hope we find the right guy dug us out of rock bottom and the trenches of FBs football.

Whelp, glad we did what needed to be done sooner than later. We can start the search for new while the pool is larger.

Hope the darkest days of the program are behind us.
