The more clips I see of Willie Simmons, the more I like him.  He's certainly got the fire / passion box checked that so many were frustrated with CJS about (at least his showing of it outwardly).

Willie Simmons is currently under contract with FAMU football until 2025 and has a 31-12 record since taking over in 2018.

I'm looking at the offers FAMU sent out and I can't lie, it's impressive. This guy has a big set of balls for the amount of 4/5  stars he offered. The crazy part is where is says "cool" that means the players are at least giving him a look/consideration. Look at FAMU's 2023 offers compared to USF's 2023 offers. This should tell you enough. If this man gets hired we will have a bad a$$ recruiting class and "impact" transfers ready for action.

I was sold on Willie Simmons during that UNC game earlier this year.

FAMU had 20 players ineligible due to some admin issues. Playing a team that is currently 8-1, ranked #15, and in line to play in the ACC championship. FAMU still fought and clawed and was down 21-14 with a minute to go in the first half, and down 35-24 at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Jeff Scott's USF wouldn't have hung around with a middling AAC team with 20 players ineligible, then we'd hear about how great it was they kept fighting afterwards. Willie Simmons had an FCS team down 20 players competing with one of the best P5 teams in the country for most the game.

Ha! I forgot about that game. I remember telling myself "Thank God we don't play FAMU this year" afterwards. This year is bad enough. I can't handle a loss to a FCS team as well.

Willie Simmons would be such a lame duck hire. Reaching for FAMU’s HC… my how far we have dropped off.
