2 Winning seasons in 6 years? Hard pass. I like the guy and he was a great defensive coordinator but doesnt mean he is a good head coach.

I'm not against it but I would like to interview more candidates.  Similar to Mullen  in my eyes. Was a solid coach and need to rebuild his name and career. Could be a huge win for us or another Strong. I am going with Leavitt(dream), Sanders (dream), Simmons from Famu , Helton from App State,  oc from fsu atkins, and Mullen/Herman types last. At the end of the day I have no influence on the hire but I hope it isn't a co-coordinator or anyone from Clemson. If we are poaching coordinators Saban's tree of coaching seems  to find success  more than Dabo's coaching tree. I'd go after someone under Saban.

People keep mentioning Sanders but we dont even know if he is any good at coaching. He was getting those players not just because he was Deon but it was about bringing HBCUs to prominence.

2 winning seasons in 6 years ..... I'll take that about now ...

Plus, 2 winning seasons at IU in the Big 10 that's equal to a conference championship in aac

At Indiana.... that is actually AMAZING success in Bloomington.

Before Tom Allen was head coach, Indiana's last winning season was 1994... five straight coaches that never finished above .500 in 21 seasons.   Tom Allen's 29 wins are more than any of those five coaches as well.

Absolutely. We need someone that can bring a high powered offense. Herman is that guy.

I get scared about formerly successful coaches that fail in Texas...  🤔

He never had a losing season at Texas.

Alright, I don't mean to bring negative energy, but some of these names should not be our next HC:

Scott Frost - Buddy has had ONE winning season in seven years as a Head Coach. You want to talk about lightning in a bottle? Frost ain't the guy.

Tom Allen - I get it; the defense that one year looked good, but the guy has not been a successful head coach at Indiana besides 2019/2020 - 2020 as we know, the whole world was on its head. He has gone 5-16 the last two seasons. And yes, Indiana is a tough job for any head coach, but does he really inspire confidence of success as HC?

Manny Diaz - The turnover chain overrated this guy to hell and back. He was fired for awful defenses during the season in places like Texas and failed at UM. Not what USF needs.

All comes down to type of offense they want to run.

Afraid Allen would want to run some pro style big ten offense that would fail Here.
