I believe that's a third category - a lie.

It’s not a lie, i would legitimately be out of money and not be able to pay you the money. If you look at it at the very surface level way then it seems a lot like a reason. Sort of like well we can’t win because we are underdogs. Maybe we don’t have to go all the way to the fifth why but there is something CJS can do today to do something about it and that’s what he needs to focus on, then pick something else and every day do the same thing and I promise everyone will be amazed at the progress. You can’t eat an elephant whole and you need to take it one bite at a time, needing to have everything perfect in order to make your first impact is a fallacy of failures.

We had eleven starters out.  That is quantifiable, measurable, and objective.  It is easily proven and a reasonable person would accept that it is going to negatively affect performance.  I would label that as a reason.

Sure in a vacuum that would seem reasonable, but in totality injures fall on the winning and losing alike. While that one probably can’t be resolved in a day there are plenty of things that one can do to mitigate that. If that’s the actual reason then just say that one and then don’t have an issue when there are 5 people out but if you toss it in with a laundry list of “reasons” it seems more like you are just throwing excuses at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Why so many injuries? Are these guys not conditioned? Over-conditioned? Too small or frail to play major DI football?

My take is it is a combination, we are small and we played some big boys in 3 of our first four games, biggest reason. We have shown that we are unprepared from an X’s and O’s standpoint so that would lead me to believe we are not properly conditioned as well.  If you are constantly out of position then you are more susceptible to injury.  In addition, from my experience, if you are getting your tail kicked in then you are in no hurry to get back on the field.  You are also less likely to get injured as the aggressor then the one receiving the aggression, always better to give a head butt then to receive one.  When people begin to lose faith the injury chart expands, why bust your butt at practice to get your butt kicked on game day when you can simply soak in the tub, and focus on partying.

The fact is we don't know.  There are many questions that we would like answers to.  But we don't know.  What one does with that vacuum, and what one chooses to make up to fill that vacuum is totally in one's power.

Or we can say, "I don't know".

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
