Although I don’t consider myself to do this too often (I have gone on record with 6 wins), I do think many need a dose of realism mixed into their fantasy land approach taken by some on this board.

So?  I took the under on 4.5 wins.  That doesn't mean I need to cheer for it along with pessimism and criticism of those that have more optimistic thoughts?  Why worry about other people having more positive beliefs, ideas?  They're adults.  Why ground them in your reality?  Don't we hope they're right?  Isn't it nice to think about?  I hope they're right.  And I hope their positive energy is rewarded.

I mean going on and on about this is going to be a great year gets a bit redundant

I would bet most people's definition of a "great year" (although I haven't seen it called that) is probably different than what you are assigning it (I saw you wrote "9 wins" somewhere, that's what, one or two fans? Certainly not the majority, but the fringe being assigned to "the board", the majority).  I've mostly read that fans think we're going to be better than last year and a bowl game is possible.   Possible.

Just my point of view, I have said it before but will reiterate. Years ago many would whine incessantly about an 8 win team.  While it is tiring and somewhat a bore, I cannot fault ones who are complaining about a program which has been nothing short of abysmal the last 3 seasons.  Even so, maybe they should do it in their own posts and let those who are optimistic to a fault have their fun.  This is supposed to be fun, isn't it?

Geeze, @NewEnglandBull wakes up on the wrong side of the bed and our moderator starts antagonizing his atheist "beliefs".  This is going to be a bad morning.

What keeps me optimistic nonetheless is it's a new season!  Go Bulls!

I can turn it around on NEB - "Forget the past, I'm so tired of hearing about the past.  WAAAAH!"

To 2022!  :guinness:

He had actually been quiet for awhile, was just glad to see him still kicking and thought I'd throw him a bone ...... shouldn't affect the morning, though.

Ok, I’ll play along. Other than our new QB, why do you think all these players transferred? We’re they all so great they just wanted to come to USF? Has the current DC and OC always had success everywhere they have been? Do the players grasp the learning curve of the new coaches? In terms of the past, you’re telling me it has “no” importance? Even for a team that just won 2 games? There has to be “some” residue relative to skill set and psychology impact on the players after all of the losing we have gone through. Are you suggesting that Scott all of a sudden (in one year) got more intelligent as a head coach (and even he has stated he has made mistakes and the transition has been difficult for him)? Sure all I have is an opinion but the questions I have raised are more valid than “just believing and having faith” that we will win nine games. Even if half of the questions I asked come up positive you are still looking at a 5/6 win season…which our fan base would be enthusiastic about (which in itself is pretty sad, but I’ll take half a loaf at this point).

Liberty had a QB that transferred to that school last year. I am not sure what the reason, but he ended up being picked #11 in the draft. Who is say anybody is just believing in faith? Have you watched all of the highlights of the current players?  Done any research on their conditioning in the offseason? Have you analyzed each game and went through the errors that were made that can easily be fixed? Once again we have a NEW OC, and a NEW DC. That was our biggest complaints last year right? We ALL hated the OC (Weis) and DC (4got his sorry a$$ name). And they are BOTH gone. So you know what? We replaced the 2 biggest weak links on our team. Once again your views are not more valid than my views. If you want to think we will have a 5-6 win season then go ahead, but don't turn your nose up at me or anybody else for being more positive. I've done waaaaaaay more research into our CURRENT team than you have. If you want to be stuck on sad then all power to you, but don't sit here feeling that you are not in fantasy land. You are just in a darker fantasy land than where I'm at.

You have really evolved into a top tier moderator.  You also threw me a bone than hit me with it within minutes yesterday, just when we are looking for your home address you show us some love to keep us grounded.  I hope Brad recognizes your talents and is compensating you accordingly.

Obsessed with what? I go to other teams boards to simply see what they say or news about their players. I like to know who our competition is on the field. It's a thread they have that I've noticed they started when many USF fans had a breakdown after UCF getting invited to the Big 12. And know you know my friend...and knowing is half the battle according to GI Joe.

I am not sure if you have ever read the book “The Kid that Cried Wolf”, But you can only spout so much nonsense before it becomes white noise. However, you be you and thank you for the position breakdowns and analysis throughout the offseason, very beneficial to most of us!

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
