To me, the thing that makes USF's campus such a great place is that it doesn't have an on-campus football stadium.  If the football team is good enough, people will flock to RayJay as they did years ago when USF was briefly #1 in the country and played WVU at home.  Please don't RUIN the campus with an OCS.

Don’t know if your serious with this post? If you are your in the very, very minority.  The stadium will be the best ******* thing that ever happened at the U.

That’s crazy talk! Have you ever been to an OCS on a game day? Any OCS! Makes the worse schools look great! Even FAU’s crappy OCS makes me wish that our gameday atmosphere was like theirs!

Sure, I never went to RayJay back in 07, and I’m sure that was great, but the atmosphere the last 2-3 years hasn’t been amazing.

Can’t think it’s a real post but then again who knows these days.

Probably someone affiliated with the college in the orlando metro area.

Edit:  Never mind.  Looked at an old post of his.  Graduated USF in 1986.  My apologies to him for thinking he was associated with the orlando school.

The atmosphere wouldn’t have been amazing the last 2-3 years no matter where we played but it would have been better just based on the, hopefully, more students in attendance.

Agreed. Based on other schools I’ve visited, pre-game tailgates on a campus with an OCS is tons of fun even if a team has a losing season.

Way to take my topic off on many tangents.

This is something what I thought crowd sourcing the board for ideas would be generating (see attached image):

OCS:

Baselined with Baylor's new stadium. Essentially a horseshoe with North endzone open for expansion.

Beyond the North Endzone and the video board would be Alumni Lagoon.

Alumni Lagoon would consist of lazy river connected to lagoon style walk-in pool with plenty of beach sand and palm trees around. There are many hotels in Florida with this design.

By placing the area outside the North side of the stadium it will not interfere with game going on in any way and can remain there permanently after any expansion.

The area would remain open to the students on some type of reservation system and would be part of the campus recreation system (source of additional funding for it?).

For us Alumni, we would be funding most of it. After a hot day game, you would easily reserve a $50-$100 spot in the lagoon to cool off and watch highlights of our game and/or the rest of the college football day. Mutliple large screen tvs would be dotted around the lagoon. A day pass would include watching college football after our day game in the IPF on the TV screens.

If you build it, they will come (recruits and alumni).

Make it so!

reading it in the initial post I got the idea the lagoon was supposed to be in the stadium instead of a berm. If its right outside the stadium that would be way cooler. Especially if it could be shaped like Bull horns: 2038678345_NewProject.jpg.ae11ee2cbf26a8

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
