Information item does not require a vote or authorizing a study. Its basically This is where we are and here is where we are going.

Action items require voting - these are decisions that are made.

Information items are just "f.y.i." so the BOT isn't planning to vote on anything related to the OCS.

We need more season ticket holders, boosters, and outside money following to Athletics. It shouldn't matter whether we're in the Big East or AAC. Hopeful that the FB wins come this season. We've got competent leadership, synergy, and some USF Athletics that needs some loving renumeration.

Funny thing is, it didn't matter whether we were in the BE or AAC when it came to booster/donor money and that's been part of the problem. We've been in the roughly $2.5M - $3M range since the year we entered the Big East ....... until MK entered the picture.

Still rattles my brain that after 25 years of football the fan base really hasn't grown impressively.

Some unique elements to deal with in there but maybe, hopefully, it's now time ....

playing at the ray jay appeals to casual football fans in tampa. more accessible for a lot of people and state of the art.

But having an on campus stadium will captivate a lot more students that otherwise wouldn't go. You can offer free busses or ubers from campus, but its not the same as walking from your dorm directly to the festivities. If we can consistently win 7-11 games in the OCS we'll be rocking.

Not "a lot" more... remember, less than 7000 students actually live on campus.... with a few thousand more in walking/stumbling distance.  The LOCATION doesn't matter when it comes to attendance.

The game day experience will be better on campus, to be sure... and that matters a little more when it comes to attendance.

WINNING matters most of all.  UCF had an on campus stadium the last season they went 0-12... and their erector set stadium was as empty as RayJay has been.

Will be interesting to see if USF can capture the New Tampa/ Wesley Chapel area. That area keeps growing so I don’t think there should be any excuses of not selling out 40k  football & 10k for hoops just about every game.

If both teams WIN then I agree... but Tampa isn't really a basketball city... and people in that part of the Bay still have to get in a car and drive - so it doesn't matter if the commute is 15-20 minutes shorter on Fowler Avenue than Dale Mabry.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
