It's McClain's job and someone will have to REALLY impress to take it away. Especially, a transfer...

I mean I watched some clips of him last year at Baylor he arm is better and he does have some wheels. It wouldn't be a bad thing to bring a guy in that has started a season and threw 20 tds in a power 5 conference to compete for the job. If he wins redshirt the two freshmen and possibly timmy.Timmy. worse case scenario he is a better back up than marsh has been.

Is he good enough for one year to risk having McClain transfer? I think the answer is No.

My thoughts exactly - this guy does not seem to be Heisman Material, so why mess with team chemistry

Worse case scenario is he comes here, doesn't get starting job and, like bowman says, messes with the team chemistry that's key to a program build. Obviously no one here knows what type of character he's got and he could be an awesome teammate no matter what but also as part of the worst case scenario, he'd be taking reps away from other qb's that could be part of our future

Maybe if the coaching staff thinks we're just a decent, experienced qb away, they hand him the reins. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Definitely a conundrum...

Team chemistry last year resulted in 2 wins.  If this guy can improve the offense NOW then bring him in.

This. Team chemistry means 0 at this point. If Scott doesn't win 5-6 games this year he should be gone.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
