Who says he isnt a thrower? Have you seen him throw on video? I saw sharp oasses, a quick release and a strong arm. He played in a conservative run oriented offense. Two of Baylors RBs had 2400 rushing combined last season. I think part of the reason he came here is that we have an abundance or WR & TEs and nobody that has connected with them.

He has only one season to go off of.....stats from his only season starting(4th year) vs top 25 competition. Not that he is gonna see it many good teams here, but this is it...

Running game might have hid him and it might be the reason they are moving on from him - 12/22 56% 144 yards passing

versus un-ranked teams

15/23 67% 211 yards passing

To me it looks like he was on a team that had a great run game and defense. For us he is def gonna be an improvement,  but im not sure he is making a difference as much as an improved defense would.

also, yes i did watch the baylor games. Strong arm - yep, solid runner, decision making at his age is questionable bc he hasnt played.

good pickup for Scott to save a year or two.

He also had 9 total touchdowns for this 5 ranked games, and 18 total touchdowns on the rest of the games.

I liken our conference to have similar talent level to the non-ranked slate he faced at Baylor. If we had 18 total touchdowns from Timmy on the year (or any QB) the season would have looked a fair amount different.

Looks like we won’t know the starter until we know the starter. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This breakdown has me pretty hype. You immediately notice how he makes decisions quick, drops back with eyes down field and the throw comes out immediately. Can see why his oline looks better when he's in the game.

I think that lines up with what Trickett wants to do where we just need to get the ball to our playmakers in space and let them do the work. Horn, Dollison, Khafre, Weaver, Battie, and Joiner all feel like big play threats if they just get the ball 8 yards down field and only have to make their man miss.

Correct that’s the big difference that I see, he makes quick decisions and gets the ball out, no running around with ball. I think that this is the main thing McClain has to learn and it will take time for him because he is quick and elusive so hard for him to stop doing it.

It's been repeated over and over, McC does not seem to be improving. If Spring practice and the scrimmage were supposed to be a big breakout for TMcC and he disappointed. May have been the last straw. He has talent and now experience but maybe he just needs to grow more and refine his techniques. This season is a whole new ballgame(literally). I'm hopeful that CTrk is the guy with the plan. Side thought: why not take McC and have him tutored by BJ? Yes, some things are just inherent in a great QB. McC has talent but can it be expanded upon or, was he just a really really good high school QB? Stay tuned-going to be interesting. The baylor guy looks good-very good.

Sophomore vs RS Junior. All about time and experience. McC will improve with time. If he doesn't, someone behind him will and that's the best part of bringing GB in. If he is solid, it gives the young guys more time to develop.

For me, I'm hopeful that this guys quote is accurate. That would explain a lot. I like it.

I talked to a #USF source last week and tonight one of his comments rings true: “(The coaches) are tired of talking about changing the culture. It’s changed. They wanna f——- win.”

Nice going "Sophmore"....hmm? fake news, you will be assessed 10 demerit points and a report will be put in your permanent life file.          Ok, football. The more we talk about McC the more intrigued I am with Marsh. He is another one with raw talent along with better size. As I've said before-I'm hopeful that CTrk is a QB builder.
