So who do you think QB2 should be. Remember, one shot to the ribs and Fortin was done.

Marsh #2 . . . we can still play the others(up to 4 games and still RS), but I would plan to RS all three for 2022. IF our new QB wins the job.

Think Arkansas.

Based on what I’ve read and thinking about why they would do this, pretty sure it’s because of the impact Covid had on the 2020 season. They aren’t giving two additional years, it’s only one.

Thought Covid gave an additional year.  But that is separate from not having to sit out if you transfer. But Trip pointed it out that you had to enter the portal before May 1st for that to be true.

Do you think Marsh would beat McC for the starting job without QBGB coming onboard?

If GB wins the job, hope he stays healthy and Marsh plays backup and cleanup.

If GB does not win the job, I want the better and it would probably be McC. Bottom Line, I think Timmy would be better with a RS season after his hard learning FR season.

It will be up to McClain. If he doesn’t win starting job, he will make the decision to either still play as back up or red shirt. If he doesn’t win the starting job, I think it’s likely that he ends up transferring for 2023

I don't think McClain transfers. I think GB will come in and share some knowledge of patience and learning behind someone with experience.  We haven't had that opportunity in what seems like forever. Clearly we blew it when we had Flowers. We didn't develop or recruit talent behind him.

If McClain loses out to the other QBs, then i can see him transferring.

gb is coming in to put up monster numbers and dominate the aac competition

I believe he will as well. he also has years and experience over all these other QBs. It's a mature/experienced voice (that isn't the coach) in the QB room that sat and did his time waiting.  I would think that has to be worth something in the long run.

Not sure about the first part but I agree with the bolded. He probably realizes if he goes to a Mizzou or Minnesota he probably wins 7 games and puts up similar stats to last year. But at USF there is an outside shot he just lights up the stat sheet against this level of competition and plays himself into being an NFL draft pick

Yeah, saw that comment in the articles. "Classy" is an interesting take on that situation. Time will tell hopefully it is a big get for USF

Being that Aranda could have named a starter after May 1 and kept both QB's there makes his decision "classy".

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
