Dont get too hyped guys.  After watching film he is mediocre passer. Great with the bomb but terrible with the short passes. He is built for running teams. He is a poor mans Flowers with less dazzle.

Darn dude you took the wind out of it. Let’s GO BULLS

which game did you watch? Just watched the Texas game and I had the opposite impression. Seemed really good in passes under 10 yards and option/pitch plays to get the RB's the ball in more space

Flowers was a truly special QB who had a lot of time to develop in our system. Bohanon won't play to his level, and that is ok. He is definitely in the top half of college QBs and potentially in the top third. He ranked 35th in QBR last year and was the 51st most efficient passer in the country. I don't think anyone is painting him as a surefire, NFL QB, but he is definitely capable of outplaying the other QBs on our roster.  For comparisons sake, Timmy was 91st in QBR and 100th in passing efficiency.

QB is a position that we needed an upgrade . . . obviously coaches thought also after Spring.

Jaren Mangham is 6'2 221, Gerry Bohanon is 6'3 221

There's a video of him squatting 645 this spring. Should really help us out in short yardage situations.

I don't think that they necessarily thought that we "needed" an upgrade, but Bohanon was definitely an intriguing prospect and one that likely improves our chances of making a bowl game in 2022. If they were truly looking at brining in other QBs to compete, I think that we would have heard more chatter about potential transfers. He was arguably one of the top-10 QBs available in the portal this offseason (in the 8 to 10 range) and all of the others went to good P5 programs.

Seems like he has his head on straight on that interview.

People dumping on this guy seem to forget that he had more wins last year than our entire team has had in several put together…
