TAMPA (February 25, 2022) – The University of South Florida Bulls conclude a two-game road trip on Saturday night with a 7 p.m. contest against the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Cincinnati won the last meeting in Tampa, 70-59, two weeks ago. David DeJulius led the Bearcats with 24 points. Sam Hines Jr. scored a season-high 12 points for South Florida and was one of three players to recorded double digits.

Hines Jr. has started in five straight games for the Bulls (10 total) and continues to give USF solid minutes on the glass and defensively while contributing in the scoring column.

Jamir Chaplin has missed the last four games and Serrel Smith Jr. has started in his place. Smith Jr. poured in 17 and 18 points (season high) in back-to-back games last week and knocked down a career-best five three-pointers at home vs. ECU.

Russel Tchewa has been a dominant force over the past month for the Bulls. The sophomore center is averaging 11.9 ppg over his last eight outings and 7.8 rebounds over the last four games. He tallied his second double-double of the year at ECU on Wednesday while logging a career-high 18 points.

Corey Walker Jr. had another standout game at ECU on Wednesday with 10 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, a pair of steals and one assist.

Caleb Murphy (11.4 ppg) and Javon Greene (9.5) continue to be USF's top scorers at the guard position. Murphy also leads the team in assists/game (3.1) and Greene leads the AAC in steals/game (1.9).

Up Next

The Bulls return home for Senior Day on Thursday, March 3 against Memphis. Tipoff is slated for 9 p.m. at the Yuengling Center and the game will be broadcast on ESPNU. USF will then travel to Temple on Sunday, March 3 for its regular season finale.

Garbage ball but we are up, Tchewa is getting better every game, dude can be a stud, Matos  is ass but I don’t want to be the guy that tells him to hit the bricks.  I am a glutton for punishment, but I think we have a chance.

Wheels coming off but to nobody’s surprise, Cincy is ordinary unfortunately we are not.  Last 5 minutes will tell us if the second half is worth watching

Not that anyone cares, we are down 6,  not playing bad, we simply are bad.  We are missing open shots, but that is what we do. We can actually beat this team, we won’t but we can, they are not very good, unfortunately we are way worse.

Down by 2 at half, some adjustments we may only lose by 12, CBG doesn’t know how to make adjustments.  Seriously, Tchewa is becoming a force and is developing a touch.  Murphy can create and nobody can guard him from 10-12.  Our second team is weak but Moss landed some bricks and if we turn over another 50 percent of our team then maybe we get to 500 next year.

Moss shooting is atrocious…he’s throwing up some serious bricks.  I’ve seen better shooting form at a CYO game.
