The problem with him is that his best attribute is his recruiting, not his coaching. Sure he runs different formations, but is he actually good? The stats say no....

He could get a pass for the next couple seasons if the defense crushes it. I hope Scott will do what is required if that is the case.

We have a guy that never ran an offense or  called plays running a team and we have a first time oc and we are not sure what his coaching abilities. All we can do is hope for the best and hope the defense drastically improves and the new oc comes with more plays to fit our players.

Maybe as a HC you hire an OC that runs an offense for the talent that you have.

You're assuming there is talent?  😁

I think Skingraft was talking about freshman year for both, which is all we can really compare, and TM was light years ahead of Q when it comes to passing their first year ..... mainly because Flowers only attempted 20 passes.

Bingo.... Just freshman year

has never run an offense or called plays....pick one. Clemson fans started to blame tony elliot(oc play caller) once scott left. also not a fist time oc....unless you think he wasnt doing anything against bama.

guys, Scott was one of the most sought after OC in the entire nation at one point. lets give him a chance to get his legs.

I think there is talent in our offense, but once again do you build with what you have and recruit more to help out, or do scratch and try to start anew with an offense you have no talent for?

You need to take a look at where we recruit and where is the talent there. Trying to come to USF and run a Power running attack would be stupid because that’s not the talent you will be able to recruit.

Both. Cjs was a co oc and not calling plays. He has never been fully in charge of one side the ball and now is in charge of a team. I am not sure how involved he was with Weiss. We need some experienced oc to .enter both trickett and winning hc to mentor cjs.

Agreed, but I will give him credit that I "thought" he was a better passer as a freshman than QF but QF had a higher FB IQ it seemed to me...

Maybe, but that is pretty difficult to measure unless you know the play call, etc.  QF looked pretty awful his freshman year, and not so great his first few games of his sophomore year.  Timmy looked better than that, but the main difference is that QF would run if he got in trouble.  Timmy holds on looking for the big play.  It will be interesting to see how different he looks this year.

So  in you opinion what did he do?

Chuky Cheese is a prime example of someone coming in and trying to change talent to fit his offensive style. Remember trying to make Flowers a drop back passer?

Our offense went from 43.8 pts a game before he came to

38.3 still with Flowers, then 28.5 and finally 20.8 and left this team in shambles because the team had no offensive identity. You can say what you want about Scott but you see in Weaver,McCain, Horn and others coming in that we are building back with what Florida recruiting will give you plenty of. Speed and if Trickett recruited Florida for WV he knows 5hat full well.
