Yes.  The line will break down and you break their will.  It also keeps the ECU deep passes on the sideline.

How was that not a TD for ECU? It looked like he clearly crossed the line before he was down. Don't know what the ref saw to originally say he was down.

Bc for some reason it has been decided that real time decision making is better than having a camera slowly replay what was witnessed.
