Also USF is still very much in it because the Big 12 is going to 14. They are still deciding or not telling who 13 and 14 are.

Did I miss where they've decided and told who 11 and 12 are ... or am I missing the humor factor of that statement?

There was an article a few days ago that even had us left out of his theoretical 80 school P5.

We will change the national perception of insignificance this year.

An article that had Charlotte going to the SEC. If our national perception is lower than Charlotte, one season ain't gonna do it ....

LOL Yeah that article made up the conference's as regional partners, but clearly he was throwing in names in a hat at times. As hard as it is, can't pay attention to what the "media" says or doesn't say about certain institutions. They don't make the calls. They also may be biased about pointing someone out or leaving someone else out.

The presidents, commissioners and AD's make the decision. And in theory, they know whom the best candidates are. Heck the best candidates may be the ones not tooting their own horn because they don't feel they have to.

That actually can never happen because those left out would sue for anti-trust violations.

UNLESS we adopt the Promotion/Relegation model that is used in European football.

Every school has to have a 'path to access' ... technically event a D3 school like Mount Union has to have a path.  And right now they do... there are criteria to move up in the divisions, then once in the FBS there are criteria to get access.  Is it nearly impossible? Sure... but it's still possible.

So you cannot make the playoff ONLY the champions of ONLY four conferences because then you make it completely impossible.

But you must be a conf champion to make the playoffs .

OK pres Boren said recently if they add a network they may go to 14 for content. First time I had seen B12 admit that.

No,  because it is a league with members who

1. Think they are better than their conference mates.

2. Don't think they are making enough money because of their conference.

3. Refusing to do what is best for the conference while they look for a better situation.

On top of that,  they are the smallest of the P5 and is only a matter of time before they implode when their best programs get poached because they refuse to be proactive.

1.  That is Texas and always will be no matter if the have a losing season

2. Nothing to do with the conference

3.  True, but shortsighted since they will not get into the ACC, Big Ten, or SEC.

Smallest P5 because of the number of members.

Follow the history of every conference Texas has been in and you will see a pattern.

Texas would be immediately accepted by any other conference and is an AAU member.

Good one. For a second there I didn't realize you were kidding when you said Texas couldn't get into the ACC, Big 10, or SEC.
