They promote themselves very well. They will pay ESPN or any network to talk them up. During the early years when the Bulls use to pound them, the commentators would sound like they were doing infomercials throughout the game. It was sickening.

I was unaware UCF paid money to talk about them. How much do they typically give ESPN for that treatment and why don't other schools do it?

ESPN is owned by Disney like in Disney World by Orlando.  Orlando is like a second home for ESPN people, so ESPN  sorta has a kinda UCF connection.  For ESPN folks UCF comes to mind before USF.
