I imagine Collin thinks that since USF is a state university, some transparency should be expected in these matters.

So he would like our "behind the scenes" efforts to be more noticeable?

That's a whole different topic. My primary concern was declaring that USF wasn't doing anything proactive to get into the Big 12 because we couldn't see it, including stating that their "behind the scenes" efforts didn't exist because no one can see them.

As to your question, USF doesn't owe me anything. They didn't consult me or get my approval when they worked to get into the Big East and I don't expect them to do it this time around either.

Relax, I get it.  My response to you originally was just poking fun at Collin.  I didn't expect you to come back at me with a serious question to me about what Collin really thinks.

And of course USF doesn't owe you anything.  I never implied otherwise.

It seems to be out of the same playbook used by USF during the 2002-03 round of conference realignment, which ended up with USF in the Big East. Lee Roy Selmon & Judy Genshaft kept things very close to the vest, worked their relationships with Presidents and other athletics personnel, and stayed below the radar through much of the process. It seems that's the game plan once again.

This is not Judy's first rodeo.  She knows what she is doing and was successful in the past.  Whether its enough, we will find out but this is what I've suspected all along.

I don't care. Just DO it. If this approach works, it works. If it doesn't then it doesn't. Results are what matter. If we get a press release now, or next year, or whenever saying we get a Big 12 invite then no one will care. We will applaud.

I agree to a point, but somewhere along the line, there will come a point where what we do/say, etc. doesn't make any difference and the decision will be made by someone else.  Nobody at USF has control over anything that will determine our fate.

I can't even imagine the "Fire Judy" posts we'll see if USF gets passed over.

It seems the sign of a successful behind the scenes effort is it actually being unnoticeable.

You have to at least give them credit for competence on that front.

My guess is that when it comes to expansion leagues value a team that can keep its mouth shut.

All we really need to know is that there is at least an effort being made.  One could actually come to the conclusion that since we aren't publicly trying to sell ourselves that we are in decent shape.  I am not ready to make that leap but I have given it thought.

The only Judy scenario would be if the Whorelando team got picked and we didn't

How the **** does someone appear to be doing something behind the scenes?

Has Tuxedo Yoda mentioned us?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
