Can we reach a compromise where USF gets a P5 invite, but our fan base gets left in the G5 until it can prove itself P5-worthy? Tampa Bay needs to step up and love its Bulls.

I think if we can get Oklahoma, West Virginia, Texas, Okl St, Baylor, TCU, etc to play the RayJay on a regular basis in games that have impact on the Natty Championship the fans will be there.  The masses will never give a crap about Tulsa,Tulane, etc

The fact that we keep using "UConn" is really all the proof needed about their brand. You ask college sports fans around the country what UConn stands for and most will know ... doesn't really matter why they know. Maybe we're treating the word "brand" differently ....

How else do you think he made contact with them if not by email?  Carrier Pigeons?  Obviously it was and is either by phone or in person.  Either that or he lied when he stated he's in contact with other leaders (read: Big 12 honchos).  I believe he told the truth and he has been in contact with other leaders, even though docs haven't shown up.

I for one just wish the Big 12 would pull the trigger and add the entire eastern division of the American and call it a day.

I heard we actually got a P5 offer, wasn't clear where, but he turned it down .... Said we weren't ready.

Yeah I heard that too. I think it was around the 2007 or 2008 season. The issue was that we didn't have matching luggage at the time and DW didn't want us to use assorted carry-ons.
