Exactly.  So why would the Big 12 go after Tennessee TVs instead of FL TVs?  Makes no sense.  Pass over the #12 market for the #48 market?

I believe I've read that they don't want anymore teams out on an island and Memphis is supposedly dedicated to winning

All makes no difference.  We will be in a Power Conference when the dust settles, so will UCF.

Every year its 'whoever is doing well in AAC get to the big 12' story. It's like musical chairs, the school who is doing well in the year they decide to expand gets the ticket, haha! They don't need any more schools to keep making big bucks. They still have 3-4 teams ranked every year. How the hell Baylor and TCU now dominate the conference blows my mind. It's all about offense in the B12, that's what most people want to watch on TV, its exciting, it brings fans to the game. The top schools figured that out a long time ago.

but what if they went for all 4? It would be interesting, I think they need to. They seem to be the conference that people have the least amount of confidence in. If they want t keep up with the other guys they may need to make a bold move.

So what?  I want a million dollars, but I won't get it.

The Big 12 can want certain things, or they can take more dollars.  In the end, the more dollars thing usually wins out.  Memphis can win, but they only have so many TVs and winning won't help that.

Taking USF and or UCF would be pretty bold by itself.

that's why if they took the two Florida schools, Cincy, and Memphis they could have it all. Expanded footprint, tv revenue, every basically gets a travel partner, and they could firm up there tetter tottering conference. What do they have to lose? People are already rumbling for Texas to go Indy....

the sec wouldn't be happy, but if your playing a long game it might be worth the investment. wnder if fox sports will have a say in their conversation?

I do think this has a real shot at happening at some point.  Like others have said, Memphis is high right now because they are playing great, look at UCF the last few years.  EVERYBODY had UCF going to the Big 12 during the off season, now, a bad season, they are relegated back down to CUSA, Memphis, Temple, Cincy, will all follow suit.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
