Harlan's got this. It's a shame, had we had him all along, we *might* not be in this mess.

Explanation: Probably wouldn't have fired Leavitt. Would've canned Prado and Heath earlier, which even if we missed the fluke NCAAT (which was an amazing time and a great roadtrip to Ohio and Tenn) would've been worth it for longterm viability.

While I am optimistic, Harlan hasn't shown anything yet. As I recall, his one hire had a fairly miserable record last year despite the continued enthusiasm.

What about Kingston? Antigua didn't have much to work with last year, but is recruiting at a level that will hopefully turn into wins quickly.

As with all things USF, I'm cautiously optimistic. We're in too large of a media market to be on the outside looking in when the conference realignment mambo kicks in again. We just need to focus on winning the AAC as many times as possible. Now, if Taggart could only show he's capable of orchestrating a somewhat decent college football offense, that'd be a great step toward winning the conference. Taggart has shown he's a great recruiter but not much else so far.

With regard to Harlan, his hires are looking solid. Antigua is recruiting well, but this season will go a long way to indicating whether his coaching translates to more wins than losses in the AAC. Kingston has been quite the pleasant surprise; he's going like gangbusters.

When would he have canned Heath before the NCAAT run? His 3rd year was a 20 win season and first post season appearance in 10 years ... at one of the toughest jobs in the country. He would have looked like a fool only giving him one year after that.

Its weird but now I hope both USF and UCF get in together. I hate to say it but there is a synergy there...

Don't forget the softball team. Wasn't our bowling team close to winning a championship?

A LOT of Heath haters are Bulls fans.

You are correct, I forgot Kingston was a Harlan hire.  Still, it is a stretch to assume that football would be in better shape and a huge assumption to think Leavitt would still be here.

We have a ways to go before we can annoint Harlan the messiah.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
