That's funny about Wisconsin.  My wife and I both say that was the biggest crowd to make so little noise that we have ever seen.    The WVU game was so electric if you stuck your tongue out you would get shocked.  It is not an on campus stadium that makes a game.  It is the opponent and how much it means to the two teams.  We need to be in the SEC (if only we had started football another 50 yrs earlier)

Go Bulls!

1st half was pretty mellow compared to 2nd half

Plus a quick innerwebz search says Camp Randall is the 2nd best student section in the country. I didn't know it was that high.

My sole and only point on this topic was to attempt to dispute a previous claim that the student experience is irrelevant when it comes to having an OCS. Not about specific USF games, just a generalization that the students can make a game more exciting and should be considered when contemplating an OCS.

Better than the jump around at Wisc was the wave that changed directions multiple times and then split.  We can't even get a Green/Gold chant going.

I don't think anyone said it was irrelevant, just that it was down on the list for reasons to spend the money on one. It will be interesting to see when we get this thing turned around, back on the winning track, what that will do to their turnout.

Amen!

Especially when RayJay will actually let more students attend a game than an OCS... people here are pretty sure that we're not building 65,000 right out of the box, which means the 12,501 that we had years past will not be possible... so a "sold out" Ray Jay means more students than a "sold out" OCS.

And I can tell you, the students showed up for most of 2007-08-09 because the team was winning.  Students don't come for a losing team at an OCS just because it's on campus... especially when so many of our students do not live on campus.

Winning = more butts in seats.

There are a lot of good reasons to build an OCS... but catering to students would not be one of them.

You guys talking Wisconsin are hilarious. I've been to the Swamp too many times to count, to night games in Death Valley (http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/ole-miss-football/ole-miss-wallace-death-valley-toughest-place-played-2014/), and I've been to games at Ray J that were more electric than both (wvu as one example). I say that as a huge OCS supporter. Tampa is a fickle city, but when we jump on a bandwagon we do it hard.

You think that because you're a Bulls fan, like all of us but take the green and gold goggles off and see things objectively. Here's a list of the top 50 school's student experiences and we don't even make the list. Ucf is in there but not us. I'm sure students at McNeese State think their games are better than games at the Swamp too, but nobody else on the planet does.

Made up by this guy living in his mom's basement .... 1018f09_crop_150x150.jpg?1344611164

And at least 1 of basement boy's "top 50 school's student experiences" occurs in a stadium twice as far from their campus as RayJay is from USF so apparently an ocs isn't a necessity for a great atmosphere, which is all most have been saying ...

2007 vs. WVU - one of the best sports experiences ever.

Dare I liken it to a "hot dog" environment? :FIREdevil:

We must protect this hot dog environment! Rich Rod is a west coaster now...

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
