This was just posted on Twitter... consider the source, of course:

Behind closed doors OU is threatening to leave if we don't expand.

OU wants a 12 team league and a CCG. Not as picky on who 11 and 12 would be as some would think

Tuxedo Yoda lite. He was one of those claiming "inside sources" that FSU and Clemson to the Big 12 was a "done deal" a couple years ago.

Soon to be discredited blog seems pretty serious about Houston source:

Potential Big 12 Expansion Plans Could Include UCF, Houston, Cincinnati

Jul 09, 2015 4:00 PM USMST

The Big 12 Conference appears to be discussing specific plans to expand the conference back to 12 teams. Sources tell me all three potential targets currently play in the American Athletic Conference, including the Houston Cougars.

The person behind the Twitter account @HoustonBig12 obtained information from “a person who works at ESPN with inside knowledge of college football," and shared that document with me.

It’s a tangled web of what-ifs, but could end up with Houston in a “Power Five” conference – and it could happen soon.

...

Now that we’ve seen these scenarios, who are the teams being considered for an invitation to the Big 12?

The name being included in every scenario is Central Florida. This makes sense for many reasons; the biggest would be getting the Big 12 footprint in the recruiting-rich state of Florida, where there are a lot of eyeballs on college football. This, in my opinion, would also lead to the creation of a Big 12 Network. And don’t think Big 12 officials wouldn’t enjoy entering SEC country, just like the SEC did to the Big 12 by poaching Missouri and (more importantly) Texas A&M.

Who would potentially join UCF in the Big 12 expansion plans? The ESPN source says the two teams “under speculation” are Houston and Cincinnati.

Houston shouldn’t surprise anyone. Just this week I talked about why I thought the Big 12 and Houston were a great fit. UH is an up-and-coming program. It would make sense geographically, putting another Texas school in the mix. And if the Big 12 Network becomes a real thing, well Houston just happens to be the 10th-largest television market in the country.

But here’s where it gets interesting with Houston and Cincy. It appears, based on the information obtained from the ESPN insider, the Big 12 has specific hurdles in place for both these schools.

The Houston Scenario: The Cougars would need to average at attendance of more than 33,500 at home games this season. Last year, the first at TDECU Stadium, the average attendance was 28,311. TDECU Stadium holds about 40,000. The Cougars would also need to make, or preferably win, the inaugural AAC Conference Championship Game.

The Cincinnati Scenario: The attendance figures and conference championship requirements are the same. In 2014, the Bearcats averaged 28,840 fans at home games – which puts them on par with Houston. However, there is another sticking point for both teams before the Big 12 would make a choice. Both schools would have some work to when it comes to upgrading athletic facilities. According to the source, Big 12 officials would talk to Cincinnati and Houston about a possible timeline and spending for upgrades.

Well, we do run the Cosby offense... so I figured the point was to put me to sleep.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
