Leadership of program that screams "we don't know what we're doing!" Thankfully Harlan has begun to reverse that.

When it comes to tv, No way Cincinnati carries the state of Ohio. They could possibly bring cable viewers in SW OH and N KY.

They bring some proven success to the tabe in BB and football, I don't see much in the way of bring a big tv market. Florida is unique in the fact that even though the schools, by themselves may not carry the state, there are retired alums residing in the state that would watch their schools on a B12 network.

Performance on field.

As we've spoken of before, fortunately that is rarely the deciding factor.   Syracuse got into the ACC and Rutgers the B1G after Schiano left and they went back to being Rutgers.

We were clearly ahead, now they've gained a bit of momentum.  But if Genshaft and Harlan do the job they are supposed to do, we are still the better option.

I agree it is an open question as to whether either of them can get the job done.

If a decision were made today, it would be UCF, partially due to their recent success including the win over Baylor.

The attendance base will go up based on a number of factors: A more exciting/better quality product on the field, better/more exciting opponents, team playing in some meaningful games, winning.

This program hasn't had any of that in 5 or 6 years.

If Mack (or someone else) can continue to excel and make a name for himself nationally, it would help bring a buzz also.

No one gets too excited about going to watch a team struggle to put 10 points on the board, grind out 2 to 3 yards a carry with no chance for a bowl game by October 15 playing against teams like Temple.

Look at how attendance played out in the last few home games. Midway through the 3rd quarter even those 15k to 20k faithfuls couldn't take it anymore.

Put a good program back on the field and fans will show up.

Indeed.

That's it.

Make those few hours on Saturday evening worth it.

Few and far between are the altruistic fans who will show up regardless. If there's an expectation of making this program desirable for expansion (you'll pardon me if I don't hold my breath), it's going to be from winning games, conference championships, bowl games and a fair amount of 'giant slaying'.

Tampa has tons of entertainment options for Saturdays - this is what makes us different from most of the B12 programs, where there is simply no other entertainment option in their one-horse town.

What else are you going to do in Waco? Or Lawrence? or Ames?

Nothing.

You don't think the 80k or whatever the attendance is in those huge stadiums in these small towns actually are all or mostly locals? For instance, I'd say a large amount of Auburn's and UGA's home game attendees are from metro Atlanta, an area with a multitude of activities on Saturdays.

Conversely some teams have a better showing at away games than USF does at home games. Having a traveling fanbase is huge.

Accurate when anti-UCF, but not knowledgeable when pro-UCF?

Bottom line is they have risen above us in the pecking order. In fact, we're harming the alleged value of being packaged together.

Need to get our **** together, pronto.

Been several years of misguided leadership and losing.

Well duh ..... although, I didn't see in any of your articles linked the UCF=Sweetheart connection. You sure you weren't reading something in the Orlando Sentinel?

I'll find it and post it for you - not the Sentinel.

It's not just the Sentinel that looks upon UCF more favorably.

Which is still just an opinion like everybody else on the Interwebs is throwing out there, with no real justification behind it ...

My opinion is it would be UCnoF/UConn and Memphis. One of the 2 C's because of name recognition and UM because of one of the strongest fanbases still out there and location.

No need. I do acknowledge that UCF would be a favorite over us to the unenlightened at this point because of the recent pub ...

Trip, you believe that if it were a choice between UCF and USF, the B12 would select USF?

Green and Gold Goggle answer:

Goggles off answer:

No prevaricating.
