The director's cup is a very positive step. If we turn the football bus around and get some dividends from the hard work on the courts, and reasonably sustain our level in the other sports, our fanbase will grow, and contributors will grow. Til then, the investment scales don't lie.

I haven't gone over the previous pages, so I'm not sure if anyone has brought it up. But I think if USF initiated the plans for an OCS, that could really signify that USF athletics is serious about growth. This might get us more interest.

Just get the talk and all of that going at the administration level, even start fundraising. How much can all that cost (to get things rolling)? Then, the papers are going pick it up, and then that's going to add another feather in our cap for expansion.

Cool idea. Perhaps someone could photoshop an aerial photo of the USF campus with a stadium on it?

I agree with BB14, at least start some serious talk. It seems that almost every school that we might be in "competition" with has some sort of stadium in the planning or construction phase.

Exactly.  I mean Miami got into the ACC right after they built their OCS.

When will you quit living in the past and quit posting with old worn out quotes that have ZERO to do with USF?

I live in reality.

The reality is if USF had the kind of fan base to build the kind of stadium wanted (Minnesota), they'd be much closer to getting a P5 invite. Trying to build some crappy stadium that's financed based on unreasonable expectations (sustained attendance and donation levels) of the fanbase won't do it. Probably have the opposite effect.

The attendance base will go up based on a number of factors: A more exciting/better quality product on the field, better/more exciting opponents, team playing in some meaningful games, winning.

This program hasn't had any of that in 5 or 6 years.

If Mack (or someone else) can continue to excel and make a name for himself nationally, it would help bring a buzz also.

No one gets too excited about going to watch a team struggle to put 10 points on the board, grind out 2 to 3 yards a carry with no chance for a bowl game by October 15 playing against teams like Temple.

Look at how attendance played out in the last few home games. Midway through the 3rd quarter even those 15k to 20k faithfuls couldn't take it anymore.

Put a good program back on the field and fans will show up.

Indeed.

That's it.

Make those few hours on Saturday evening worth it.

Few and far between are the altruistic fans who will show up regardless. If there's an expectation of making this program desirable for expansion (you'll pardon me if I don't hold my breath), it's going to be from winning games, conference championships, bowl games and a fair amount of 'giant slaying'.

Tampa has tons of entertainment options for Saturdays - this is what makes us different from most of the B12 programs, where there is simply no other entertainment option in their one-horse town.

What else are you going to do in Waco? Or Lawrence? or Ames?

Nothing.
