Win big over a period of time (Five years) and it will solve itself

Like Boise State?

Or Syracuse?

Actually The Cuse has been doing quite well the last 5 years (minus last year). Several 8 win seasons with bowl wins over KState, MinniSoda, and Whet Virginia.

The 5 years leading up to their invite they were 21-40 ....

3 winning seasons last 5 years and 3 big bowl wins to go with it. Pitt seems to be crappier than Cuse

Are ya dense, lad?? Cuse's last 5 years don't mean squat in this conversation about conference realignment. They lost 8 or more games in 4 of the 5 years leading up to their ACC invite. BSU and SU are prime examples of why winning big over a period of 5 years doesn't mean doodly as a driving force in movin' on up in conferences.

Laddy, can ya read the post above me that I was quoting? Dude said "just win over the next 5 years". Wasn't a timeframe I came up with.

Crikey .... The post above you referred to was "Win big over a period of time (Five years) and it will solve itself". In the current conversation, "it" is being attractive to a P5 for an invite. Syracuse's record AFTER they got the invite is irrelevant.

Just to show all that the "name brand" is most important (Syracuse has it, USF does not). USF beat the 'Cuse convincingly every time from 05 thru 09 and that did nothing to increase the profile of USF or hurt that of Syracuse.  Lack of winning does not hurt programs like Syracuse which people recognize. The winning for 5 years would only work for USF if we gained massive amounts of rabid fans in the process.
