We better assume that UConn and Cincinnati would replace FSU and Clemson. I will say it again, we need the Big 12 and ACC to move to 28 teams in the aggregate in order to get in. I am afraid if they go to 26 we will be #27 and be left on the outside.

24 and counting.

UofL and Cincy are about two hours apart. ACC got Cincy's market when it got UofL. The next two adds (if they ever occur) will be UCONN and either USF or Navy. Cincy's done and they know it, which is why they lobbied so hard. And, in light of BC's open hostility to UCONN, it could even be Navy and USF. I think the reason got any consideration at all was due to this UCONN/BC dynamic.

Interesting post. Would be great if you were right

The Big 12 would be best for USF. Estimated 30 million per year payout according to that article above for the current teams. I don't know how it would change if we were in it with some other team to grab a good Florida market, but that is some serious coin.

Go Bulls!

Wish I shared your confidence, but if uc isn't interesting to acc because of ville and uconn isn't interesting because of BC, what makes us a better option given um and fsu?

We only get a serious look if FSU is gone. Our best chance is if both are gone.

If FSU leaves I agree that we become much more attractive to acc than Connecticut or Cincinnati. Don't want to leave Miami as the only foothold in Florida, and I don't think Miami would fight it.

Guys. No way B12 takes USF. In my mind the only way USF (or UCF) move up is the ACC route

You really need to use the Quote button .... I think most of the recent talk on this thread is that our best chance of movement is if FSU and/or UM goes to the Big 12.

I don't think there is a realistic chance for the ACC, either. Even if FSU leaves for the SEC or Big 12.

Saw a Orlando Sentinel opinion article said that UCF should not go into the Big East. It also said that the only thing USF had on them was being in the Big East. I guess they forgot about never beating USF in football.

USF is in a larger media market, and probably better football recruiting area.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
