Florida is a natural market for BIG 12 expansion.  Florida is still a growing state like Texas and is third state in US population-wise with 20 million residents.  Conferences expanding need to look out to future like 20+ years and exponentially growing alumni bases at USF and UCF make a lot of sense for BIG 12.

The thing is, they can take their time.  The Big 12 knows we're not going anywhere anytime soon.

We need them more then they need us. Only a few P5 conferences, but plenty of teams wanting to get it in one.

I read more about BYU going in than any other team.

a 10 team conference guarantees a rematch for a Conference Championship Game.

The rematch always favors the loser. They have to gameplan different.

This would be worse for them.

It gives their best team a tough opponent at the end of the season... that is all they need. Bama, Ohio st, oregon, all could have lost their championship game, then the big 12 would have been in, and everyone would say it was because they didn't have to face a tough opponent.

I guess Baylor playing #9 Kansas State doesn't count as a tough opponent?

problem for baylor and tcu is each of those teams had 1 more win than them. if they played 13 games and only lost one, they'd probably be in there :2cents:

The committee has said over and over again that there non conference schedule sucked.  Texas and Oklahoma do a better job of scheduling. It looks like TCU and Baylor in hindsight were just trying to get enough wins to make a bowl game and now it has come back in the butt to bite them.

I still can't get passed tOSU losing to crap VATech at home. The only loss Baylor had was a conference loss at West Virginia. That WVA team is going to a bowl and played 5 "top 10" teams this year.

A UCF assistant AD is on WJRR this morning... the DJ asking about realignment said Bianchi already has UCF moving to the big 12 and the official just said UCF is trying to win the conference they're in, and will see what happens. There were some laughs that make it seem like some things may be going on behind the scenes.

WJRR also has Bianchi on a lot, and seems to give UCF a lot of mentions. Wish USF had more local support.

We did, when we won more often.

Doesn't matter what sport Tampa is and always has been a Fairweather city.

Bowlsby hasn't contacted schools yet, but #Big12 has ist of #BYU, #UCBearcats, #GoTigersGo, #CSURams, #UCF, #USF, #UConn, #UNLV to research.

Who knows how true since there was an article about B12 meeting w/ Cincy a few weeks back
