College Sports Blog sounds legit

Don't believe anyone but Brett McMurphy when it comes to conference realignment. It's just crappy blogs trying to get web hits now that the season is starting to wind down. You have nerds that get off on conference realignment talk every offseason

But pushing the panic button is so much fun!!!

If this happens, what does that mean for USF's future?

Let me word it this way, adios amigo. we'd be better to shut down the football program and concentrate only on bball. We could always rejoin the big east

The hiccups that were holding Cincinnati back from getting picked up have been addressed since then with the announcement that UC Bearcats basketball facilities are getting a major multimillion dollar overhaul in addition to a newly renovated Nippert Stadium.

Our facilities, with the exception of an OCS, are already at par with Big 12. Given that Harlan is exploring an OCS, I wonder if it's a more of a mandate than an inquiry. If it's an inquiry, that doesn't look good.

The remaining AAC teams and the MWC should form a merger. It wouldn't shock me to see the MWC raid the AAC of Houston, SMU and Tulsa otherwise.

The MWC will just grab the texas schools and possibly UCF. We'd be left in the dust unless the big 12 decides to go to 14 then we might still have a prayer but I consider it a long shot at this point

Big 12 may grab 2 more in a few more years. They are, I assume, waiting for us to give them a reason to get us.

I don't think the MWC or UCF could afford that.

travel arrangements would probably cost too much but at this point I wouldn't rule out anything. Our best chance if this happens might be to go back to CUSA but get ready for 5-10K at Ray Jay every year. We should have fired DW after he gave skip the extension

This would be our only hope and we better start performing now rather than later. I'm thinking the first sign of trouble from Taggart and he is gone. Have to show the Big 12 your dead serious and will do anything to impress them so they take us with UCF

Ambien beat me to it; when Bret reports it, I'll believe it.

Few thoughts; I would not hate the thought of the Big 12, but I do not like the fit geographically.  I am still going to hold my breath for ACC

It wont happen. I blame Judy before I blame DW...She utterly failed to manage that man and at the end of the day the CEO is responsible for the company. I also dislike her because I had to listen to her speak at my graduation- apparently the university couldn't afford to have someone half decent show up.

They are both to blame but DW was the AD and should have done something when WVU left instead of acting like everything was ok. Clearly it wasn't and Judy should have pulled the trigger on him right there. Let's face it Judy isn't going anywhere because of the academics success of the school. Harlan has his work cut out for him let just hope he can pull some strings with a few of his friends at Texas and get us into the Big 12

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
