If getting into a P5 school was all about football or basketball success then Cincinnati and UConn would have already been invited. Louisville is the blueprint to follow:

1. Increased athletic budget

2. State of the art athletic facilties

3. Consistent on field football success

4. Consistent on court basketball success

5. On campus football stadium

We have 1 out of 5 - we are a loooooooooooooooong way away. The goal should be relevance first then we can argue our P5 worthiness.

I disagree with your Top 5.

1.  TV eyeballs

2.  Potential TV eyeballs

3.  TV markets

4.  TV markets not already covered by the conference

5.  TV eyeballs.

Please... Try Natty Champion in Hoops. Football bowl wins over Bama, Meatchiken State, and Florida. Plus selling out 55k plus OCS

No, but I can provide a brief summary.

Depending on the poster, USF being left out of the next round of realignment is either:

1) inevitable,

2) impossible, or

3) entirely due to your personal inadequacy as a fan, donor, and human being.

This is all about $$$.  No one gives a flip who has won what.

Need proof?

Rutgers got in, not UConn or Cincinatti.  Rutgers hasn't ever won anything except fencing.  Explain that, if championships are so important.

I think it's case by case.

The B10 is clearly taking a bold chance with Buttgers based on market potential. If the B10 moniker significantly upgrades their athletic department and they start winning more, that's a huge prize.

The ACC can't afford to add weak athletic departments, so it took the strongest one out there, despite it being in a forever middling market. That said, the larger markets that it could've entered it had already saturated (UConn/USF/UCF) so it was kind of a no brainer to go UL or UC; with UL being the more proven winner.

RT @JFowlerCBS: ACC in talks with UConn, Louisville, USF and Cincinnati about 14th team to replace Maryland, source told @CBSSports.

I hope USF is prepared for the next game of roulette
