Finally this thread delivers something. Now if only publix did.

 

Years ago, Publix had PublixDirect in Miami, which was an online ordering/delivery service they were testing out.

Unfortunately it closed down after a few years due to lack of sales... but then again, they didn't market it much.

 

They were going to have it in Atlanta too. Guess they saw the crash of Webvan and decided no. Sucks. I had an order to be delivered on the day Webvan tanked. I was sitting there wondering where they were and got a phone call instead from them saying they were stopping deliveries in Atlanta. But that was nothing compared to going on vacation and finding out my bank at the time, Netbank, was seized by the Feds.

So you were a victim of NetBank too?  I've just had 2 other banks get taken over in the last 15 months.  This is why I don't pick individual stocks.  I can't even find a bank that stays in business.

Why is the Univ. of Texas against expansion? It seems that they want an easy set schedule. Big 12 will need to expand VERY soon. The next two years are vital.

Why is the Univ. of Texas against expansion? It seems that they want an easy set schedule. Big 12 will need to expand VERY soon. The next two years are vital.

 

Because they get the lions share of the B12 pie and they don't want to share it with anyone else.  They'll be forced to expand to at least 12 if the playoff committee uses conference championship games as a criteria for selection.

Expansion for Texas means trying to squish more roaches under their boot. The less roaches they have to deal with the better. They get paid 15 million from ESPN per year for their worthless longhorn network. They have zero reason to expand. Expansion only adds more of time spent for in meetings and negotiations with low return. They likely figure their time investment in donors, fund raising, season ticket promotions, etc. will trolls a higher return.

Taking out selfish reasoning, I hope they never expand past 10. They're the only major conference that's getting truly accurate conference standings in both football and basketball ...

Lets make it 14 then. Darn, new math. Only issue would be 7 in oppo div. Just means you have to schedule an oppo team instead of OOC every other yr. Or maybe you designate 1 oppo as a rivalry game. In the Big 12 we could make it KU because of our humble beginnings. In the B1G we could get Rutgers on Thursday nights. In the ACC give me UL .
