I keep hearing that VA Tech is going to eventually leave to the SEC.  I guess that they would stop playing Virginia?  That's kind of a bummer.  I try to tune in for those types of games.  I know that isn't Texas/Texas A&M or anything but still...

The best case (and most likely) scenario is us being in the AAC / MWC merger of best available and the new amalgam being drafted into the D4, or whatever in the hell it will be.

I'm not the only one playing broken record, am I Hem?

 

For all intents and purposes, the merger conference will be the leftover conference - just the best of what's left.

 

I don't mean to bother you with my posts, it's easy to block them isn't it?

The merger conference looks pretty interesting to me, but the TV money won't touch the Big 12 TV money.  The merger conference should have a better TV deal than the current AAC deal, but it will still be a step up to the other conferences.

 

I like the American for Olympic sports, it should be a pretty good basketball conference.  I'd rather be in the American for sports other than football, but we can't afford the difference in TV $$$ if we want to compete with the big boys.

Unless we end up in a conference with a historical power like texas, Oklahoma, michigan, alabama etc. any conference we end up in will not be perceived as a legit conference.

I don't know if you were dropped on your head when you were a baby or something else happened to you, but if you would rather be in the AAC/MWC leftover scrub conf than the B12 you have major mental problems. Just sayin

And the part that is really scary to me. Imagine being with the leftovers with Cincinnati, UConn and or UCF all out and in better homes. I am not saying this will happen, but - when people say the "leftovers" aren't that bad ... they need to consider that some of the best leftovers might not be there.
