Lubbock has a modern, international airport 15 minutes from the Texas Tech campus. American, American Eagle, Southwest, and United Express all have scheduled service to and from the airport. If your team doesn't fly charter, it will land in DFW and than take a connection for the 45 minute flight to Lubbock. Travel to Texas Tech is much easier than OU, OSU, KSU, Baylor, and WVU, which all require lengthy bus trips.

 

 

OU has a lengthy bus trip?  Isn't Norman a relatively short ride south of OKC?  

 

WVU is about 80 miles south of Pittsburgh, I believe, that's not too bad.   That's basically a drive from Tampa to Orlando.  

 

 

Norman is very close to OKC, the airport is on the north west side of town (if I remember correctly) and Norman is south and a little east. But still very close. Maybe Tampa to Lakeland.

Emergency meetings are not called when you invite a new member. So that sucks.

 

Perhaps the emergency is that USF has been invited to the B1G and the ACC, and the B12 is afraid they will to miss out if they don't offer quickly.  

 

 

More likely they are monitoring this board and they read a couple of posts from yesterday where some of us were having second thoughts about the B12.

They probably read that Long John Silvers is better than Red Lobster and got scared off. That's what my sources are telling me.

If it happened that would leave Baylor, iowa state, kansas, kansas state, tcu and wvu. Wonder what would happen to those and who would get picked up by big 10. KU?

 

Maybe Baylor as well. They aren't the usual land-grand school but they're a quality academic school. I wouldn't be shocked to see them added.

Baylor? In the Big 10? Ah, no, not even close. Never. As quality schools go, they aren't in the league with Michigan, Illinois, Iowa. etc, etc. Not even close.
