@trishagureczny6: A Big 12 source told ESPN's Joe Schad that Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Ok State are all poised to join Pac-10 as early as Tues

No is leaving without Baylor - It is called Texas politics.

I believe ann richards passed away.

she was the texas governor and baylor grad that strong armed the texas publics into including baylor.

they have no more leverage than smu or tcu now.

If that happens, the big12 blows up...there'd be no GOR to hold anyone.

There still is a GOR, that is why it wouldn't blow up. If that situation really happened(which it wont) the schools that leave to the "PAC-10"(lmao wow can't believe the made up a rumor and still the the conf name wrong) would forfeit their TV revenues until the expiration of the GOR.

Exactly. I am willing to bet hundreds of millions of dollars that I don't have that Texas NEVER leaves the Big12. They earn more money for their athletic dept than only other university on the planet.

AAC  is slightly over 1 million, under 2 million a year from TV,   Big 12 is 20 million a year from TV.  NO BRAINER.

Travel is no different than what we have now with the exception of UCF.  Or No different than what we had in the BE.

Flight time is about the same to Texas as it is to UConn, RU, Cincy  if not shorter with less delays and issues due to Air traffic, weather ect in the NE.  I fly to the NE bi weekly and there are delays on a daily basis in and out of the NE.

The only real new travel complaint would be to get to Baylor or Texas Tech, which don't have good access to major airports.  So they would be expensive to get to or require an additional lengthy bus ride.  It's workable for an additional $18 million a year in TV revenue plus the increased revenue from selling tickets and merch from being in a real conference.

Even the Big East was barely a real conference.  I think the Big 12 would give an even bigger boost than we had in the BE.

If we are talking football, no worries, Waco and Lubbock both have airports with runways long enough to land our charter.

But ... for all the other sports, Lubbock is an expensive animal.

I would imagine our Olympic sports will fly into Dallas for Baylor and bus in.

Kansas State is a bit of a bus ride from KC, but not too bad.

And Des Moines for Iowa State is expensive to fly into.

But ..... all minor issues compared to the up side.

Lubbock has a modern, international airport 15 minutes from the Texas Tech campus. American, American Eagle, Southwest, and United Express all have scheduled service to and from the airport. If your team doesn't fly charter, it will land in DFW and than take a connection for the 45 minute flight to Lubbock. Travel to Texas Tech is much easier than OU, OSU, KSU, Baylor, and WVU, which all require lengthy bus trips.

Agree, but what I am saying ... Lubbock and Des Moines have very few seats on planes in and out via scheduled service, which leads to very high airfares. Yes, both aren't hard to get to, but they are very expensive to get to.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
