B12 knows a FL presence helps them with their tv contract and recruiting. They have 4 spots to get to 14, we should be on their radar. 14 appears to be the magic number.

Its all about math. Excluding Maryland, there are 23 schools in the Big 12 and ACC, with four on the outside (Louisville, UConn, Cincinnati, and USF). We need for both conferences to want to get to a combined 28 teams (27 doesn't work). To add USF, one of these two conferences is going to need to add another school not in the four listed previously - who is the attractive 5th school?

If there isn't one then the ACC and Big 12 may stop, for now, at 26 leaving USF on the doorstep. Don't get excited yet, USF's fate may be decided by a less-attractive school. It's all about the math.

USF needs to announce plans for on campus stadium on Mon. We pay our HC 2M per year, we should be able to compete with anybody and we are in a top 20 media market. We can increase any tv contract. Btw we are talking to Ron Zook about HC position , but don't tell anyone until we tell Skip he's gone

FSU, Miami and UF absolutely want us to crash and burn. No way we get into ACC with FSU and Miami there. They will be happy to send us backwards. Less recruiting competition for them. They have every reason to push us backwards and zero reason to want us in the ACC. They know leaving us out will destroy us. We are officially irrelevant. We are now a Boise state or Houston but without the winning history. We're equal with UCF.

Much of this is beyond our control. We can only take what we're given and move forward. We'll have to make due with CUSA 2.0 type conference.
