I am trying to think ..

 

I believe USF is undefeated in regular season games played in Texas:

 

1-0 vs. Houston, North Texas and TCU.

 

(0-1 in Bowl Games in Texas, but we won't mention that one)

 

darn it ... I typed all of that out, we are 3-1 in regular season games in Texas, I forgot the loss at Baylor.

Would that have anything to do with where we are now? Or is all this realignment more a reaction of the time since the ACC raided the Big East the first time.

LOouisville has moved the same amount of times we have, plus one, so I don't think all the conference changing has had an effect in that regard ..

Every move, until Big East to American (if you count that as a move) have been a step up. The Metro dissolved, as everyone left. Can't fault anyone for leaving C-USA with the chance to go to the Big East.

 

I don't think anyone would fault a school for that. Its not like we left the Mountain West only to return 3 months later.

An "A" group consisting of P5, MWC/AAC cream, and 8-12 Indys. The "B" group would be Big East, AAC/MWC rejects, and a few others.

A and B would compete together in all other sports. NCAA would become a shell of what it is today.

That sounds bogus.  Where are you going to find 8-12 independents? I don't even think that there are that many.

I think that means 8-12 schools leaving their leagues for the big time ... like FAU, FIU, N. Illinois, Marshall all come to mind .... not saying the quote has any credibility, but those "independents" are not necessarily independents now.

If this happens, I'd rather stay in the AAC than jump to the B12 (assuming the TV revenue is equal). We'd be far more competitive
