I will say that they are great travel destinations if you like outdoors.  I would like to travel to all of these places every few years and see some mountains and epic stuff.

I agree. Besides the Southern part of New Zealand and the Cape Town area in South Africa, the Pacific North West alongside British Columbia is the most beautiful part on the planet ( in my opinion). Tulsa, Oklahoma or North Texas doesn't hold a candle to them.

Yes please to road trips in that area of the country.

How dumb were we to sign a deal with the AAC with "huge exit fees". Literally no one wants to be in this conference and all of the new schools added were basically AI generated schools. Completely interchangeable with anyone else available at the time and with zero added value.

We should have left when the big 12 expansion happened and gone independent. We shoot ourselves in the foot time and time again.

Agree on the exit fees part, but not on going Independent.

At this point I’m less interested in whether we’re going to the PAC (not going to happen) than whether we can pick off Air Force from the MWC:

Minor league teams in the AAC don’t generally get to dictate the terms of scheduling against P4 teams.

if we don't get the PAC call up I hope they invite Rice, Charlotte, North Texas, and Tulsa. Those teams bring nothing to the AAC, and losing them would be addition by subtraction

It was a smart move for the PAC to not just merge with the Mountain West since who wants to play Wyoming and Utah State. Its something i like about the Pac conference; there will be no weak programs.

Not sure how the PAC is a call up. At best, a lateral move. The old PAC 12 would have been worth the travel and late game starts. This new version, not so sure. Either way, I hope whatever the admin decides works in the long run.

If you are investing in a stadium, your main concern is filling it for gameday right?  What fills the stands?  Winning records, familiar teams, winnable games against well know OOC oponents.  We can do that in AAC I would think.

At 35,000 ... USF could do that against the A-10.

"Late" is a rare thing.  Only four of the team are in the Pacific time zone, and it's not like USF would play all four on the road in a given season ... and USF has had road games kickoff at 9:00pm before.  Sure, there may be one or two "after dark" games with a 10:30pm Eastern kickoff over four or five seasons, but that's an exception.

Assuming Memphis, Tulane, and UTSA leave... then you compare these two conferences:

Oregon State, Washington State, Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State, Colorado State  (maybe UNLV and Utah State)

Tulsa, Rice, East Carolina, Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, Temple, Navy, Army, Alabama-Birmingham (maybe Air Force and Florida International and App State)

To me -- the "new PAC" is better than the "new AAC".

If the PAC was really smart they would add all the service academies ( Air Force, Navy, and Army) and UNLV as well as USF, UTSA Memphis, Tulane, and ECU.

Could have East West division

West: WSU,OSU, Boise State, Fresno State, CSU,  UNLV, San Diego State, Air Force

East: USF, Tulane, ,Memphis, Army, Navy, ECU, UTSA, and one more

That's basically the argument for going because if we stay we will probably downgrade.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
