I will say the king flights and time zone changes should not be ignored.

It’s like a 4.5 hour flight from Tampa to Los Angeles. +3 hour time difference.

Yeah, travel for student athletes is a factor... but if you add more money you can add more resources for them.  Plus those teams have to fly to Florida.

As usual, expansion sucks for USF.

We either stay in the AAC after a few defections and backfill that further dilutes the conference, or we join another non-power conference based 3,000 miles away with no TV deal relying on hopes and prayers.

It doesn't just dilute the conference it likely means less revenue... as Memphis fans are reporting the ESPN look in in 2026.

Its an issue, but you would only have about two of those per year for football and you can combine trips for other sports. In football you can have it that we play UTSA, Tulane, Memphis every year, and than play two West Coast teams on the road and two at home. I am firmly in favor of going to the PAC, but I would hope that besides us and Tulane they would add a few more East coast teams to balance things out. Perhaps Navy, Army, and East Carolina.

We can continue to build up our value by winning.  That's seems to be the only move.   If we make noise and can't be ignored, then the possibilities grow.

Winning in PAC 12 >>>>>> Winning in watered down AAC.

I agree.  It's just other factors, largely revenue concerns, that give me pause.

But more recognizable names like Boise State, Wazzu, San Diego State will likely guarantee sell outs.

That's interesting.  I never think of San Diego State as a big team but so many people seem to be high on them.

The Sunbelt just got a NY6 gig. Dominate whatever conference you're in, schedule good ooc games and see what happens ... both options have pros and cons, just the lesser of the two evils.

Same.

None of them.  Outside of Wazzou being fun to say, there's no there there.  Did they beat SJSU yesterday?  Dicey.

I think we can agree there is a difference between the new PAC and a diluted AAC, but what is that difference?

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
