While its a possibility I am far from convinced that there will be major changes in the early 2030" and that a breakaway will happen.

I think the Big 10 and SEC will be content as to where things are.

It would be wrong on our part to bank on that being a certainty at this point

The SE and BigTen already won the reality is that in most years 9 out of 12 CFP spots belong to them.

When they do the CFP look in 2028 and you see those results you can bet the money split will be restructured to match that so ACC and Big12 will get even less % than they get now.

The risk I see if we join the PAC, is the chance of it being deregulated to a non-power conference, just like what happened to the Big East.  Is this possible?

When u say our TV deal would be worse if we stayed in the AAC, I assume you mean money wise.  One other thing to consider is the AAC is on ESPN, the New Pac7 will be streaming on the CW or some other crappy OTT streaming platform that most of America doesn’t have so our national viewership and whatever brand momentum we have will be gone

Yes…we need all the money we can get. Streaming sucks 💯 but who knows how little we will make if the others leave.

Yes it’s already happened. But being in the relegated BEAST where every other team got called up is still better than being in conference USA (where we now are) hoping to have the chips fall where we can then end up in the picked off BEAST. Anyone moving up will be coming out of the new pac12, every single one, and anyone not in there decided not to even bother entering the race. There is only one person on earth leading a school’s athletics that is that dumb and listless…

A tweet about USF jumped off the screen, and it was one of those “wow” moments. But just for a moment because it pays to read the fine print. It said USF was jo

Never say never, but I’m not buying the notion of USF signing on for regular 3,000-mile plane rides for its soccer, golf, tennis, track, and volleyball teams. It just doesn’t make sense, financially or logistically.

Until the rebuilt Pac gets a media deal that is substantially better than the AAC, USF should stay on its current path forward and play the long game. The college sports industry is changing daily, and there’s no way yet to predict what will happen when conference media deals expire at the end of the decade.

I'm impatient.  I don't know if I can count on sufficient longevity to see this end up positively.

As usual, expansion sucks for USF.

We either stay in the AAC after a few defections and backfill that further dilutes the conference, or we join another non-power conference based 3,000 miles away with no TV deal relying on hopes and prayers.
