USF an UCF fit well in the big 12 and are similar to some other big 12 schools that are overshadowed by bigger programs in their state. We also have a good history with West Virginia.

BYU (football only)  and UCONN have their merits on their own.

 

USF is best when partnering with Mouse school.

 

UC will be viewed as a partner for WVU.

I hope that CWT produces the correct results (along with another BB tourney appearance)... Just so we can receive an invite to the Big12 WITHOUT UCF - so I no longer have to hear this board (and every UCF fan) say that we need them.

I figured I would add in the question that Hem asked to draw the response.  Makes a lot more sense, if you hadn't figured it out already.

 

The current "guest list" is:

 

UH, USF, SDSU, BSU, Uconn, ECU, UNLV, Air Force

 

That has the makings of a pretty good conference. I really wonder what the "guidelines" are. Looks like a pretty diverse group of schools to me. I didn't really think it would be possible to create a conference that could become D4, I figured that it would be individual schools.

I can't imagine UCF and Cincy being among the "fat" being trimmed, if the goal is to get to 12 schools.  But Cincy was specifically excluded, and BYU not in the mix.  Maybe Cincy is joining the B12 with BYU.

 

Seems like there would have to be more western schools to be viable.  Colorado State?  Fresno State?

 

Revenue wise, looks like the next four (excluding Cincy) would be: UCF, Memphis, New Mexico and Utah according to this link:
