South Florida in the Pac-12? It sounds crazy, but there’s a lot of reasons it could work great for both sides.

South Florida is a sleeping giant. A new football facility in 2027, a massive student and alumni population, and new coaches who have already succeeded in turning around the football and men’s basketball programs have this school on the rise, and if the Pac-12 doesn’t make a move it’s likely someone else (ACC or Big 12) will.

Canzano’s latest update: - “Getting close to the next steps of nailing things down.” - Memphis a priority. - Tulane, USF, UTSA and UNLV in play. - How many? Anywhere from 1-5. - TV numbers are speculative. - Gonzaga brought up, not shot down. - Timing: “Not long”, “48-72 hours”.

We can’t get left behind if the other 2 leave. They are pretty much the only teams most people care about seeing us play. The PAC isn’t ideal, but the quality of completion would be better and people have actually heard of those teams.

Is USF to the PAC-Whatever a real thing? I don't see how joining that conference is much better than where we are now. At least we can hold out for an ACC or B1G invite in the AAC.  

Plus, the travel to the PAC-Whatever would be horrid.

I would say it's not a thing until it is, but a lot of flirting can happen in the meantime and articles can be written about us.

Assuming any of this stuff is true, it's a massive gamble to join the zombified PAC12 but I have to imagine it's a worse gamble to sit on the sidelines in the AAC and and watch other teams exit for the fourth time since the Big East fell apart
