Texas is going to do to the Big 12 what the basketball schools did to the Big East.... suck the conference dry, vote only for themselves, then leave for greener pastures.

Texas is why Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri and Texas A&M left the big 12. The schools with means to escape Texas' antics did.

If USF is to move up it will have to make itself look the best option around. The good part is that those we are competing with are more in our level or are not attractive to Big12 because of location.

UC,UConn,BYU,UCF are our main competitors.

We need to show greater fan support in football and basketball

We need to keep growing our athletic budget and revenues

We need to increase donations to athletics and expand the number of members in Bulls Club

And we need to win in football and basketball

I actually agree with you on the first part, which is why we are working more with the Mouse school but I don't believe that it needs to happen in next two years. I think more than likely it will happen sooner than later though which is why as much as some of our fans hate it, selling the " rivalry" in the I-4 corridor is huge for both schools.

USF hasn't done squat in fball in 2 yrs and bball in 1, and yet, we are still objectively one of the better candidates out there for expansion. Yet, we are a fraction of what we should be. 

 

ADs know that if the program is clicking on all cylinders - fball going bowling and bball going to the tourney - revenue, attendance, support, buzz, etc ALL shoot way up. Where they belong.
