At least in this scenario your suffering ends when you run off the cliff, and you get a moment of the most pure fear and adrenaline rush right before it ends. BRB, going find a cliff in Florida.

Looking at the ACC, and Big12 team rankings, each conference only has 1 team in the top 12 rankings at the time of this post.

Assume that team takes the conference championship slot of which there are only 16. No other school from the conference makes the playoff because none in the top 12….

16 members in Big12 and ACC.
1/16 odds if you can’t crack the Top 12 ranks.

Compare to 1/9 odds in new PAC-12.

Fewer teams in the conference makes it easier road to playoffs than it is for ACC or Big12 which both look weak in the rankings compared to SEC and Big10.

I can do GOR that expires in 2030.

So we hop conferences in say 2028. 2-4 years of media rights is probably well worth it.

The committee doesn’t choose anymore in the 12 team configuration.

The playoff is the 5 highest ranked conference champions, and then the next 7 simply go to the highest ranked teams.

The committee can determine who.they deem the 5th best conference.  There no guarantee that is the pac, aac, cusa, sunbelt,or mac gets the nod. Just who is the best g5 team.

If this works out, 5 year GOR and 12-15 per school, this is a no brainer. It would by us 5 years of improvements, new OCS and local support while getting an extra 30 mil. At the end of this, ACC would be about to renew and we could be sitting in a great spot.

We might also be in this PAC-12 group for a long time.

The Top4 conferences by revenue are all 16-18 teams, not much room for more.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
