More accurate than interesting. Have said on multiple occasions that the SEC made no sense for either program.

Also, I believe it was mentioned in this thread many pages ago and the Michael Kelly believes the next major realignment, i.e. realignment in the conferences that really matter, is still another 4 to 5 years away.

Maybe, but right now Liberty is getting votes and they have played Campbell, NM State and UTEP and their hardest games in the schedule are ECU and APP State.  Even if we run the table will beating Tulane and Memphis be enough to overcome two OOC losses (assuming we don't beat Miami)

Why assume we don't beat Miami?  What's up with you people haha

Veto this idea. You aren’t going to make noise or attract crowds winning a watered down AAC that everyone will expect you to win.

There are teams that have done just this.  C, Liberty, Boise.  And its time to actually win the watered down conference.  It would be one thing if we were winning those games.  What good is the conference championship if we have 2 or 3 OOC losses to bring us down for that 1 playoff contention and Liberty or JMU are undefeated and getting the limelight?

Liberty is a joke example and the Kanigits and Boise have done a helluvalot more than win a watered down conference. No one knows what the criteria's going to be to get us into a higher conference but you don't stop what you've been trying to do ..... win our conference and schedule aggressively as you can in the mean time.

Boise always has a strong OOC schedule. Liberty was a one off last year with their schedule. Toledo, Northern Illinois, UNLV, Memphis already have quality wins under their belt and will be able afford a loss or two and still end up higher than an undefeated Liberty.

I couldn't disagree more regarding playing a weaker schedule. You schedule as many good OOC teams as you can, and play in the best possible conference that wants you at any given time.

3-5 years to win and win big. Show up, support, buy tickets, donate to the school and FAC.

Anomalies. Strength of schedule will almost always be a factor for the CFP. Winning an AAC conference of nobodies and playing 4 nobodies in OOC isn’t going to garner any attention. It will be “yeah, their undefeated but who have they played”.
These big time matchups also greatly increase our attendance numbers. Take that Alabama attendance out of our average last season and we are no longer at the top of the list of G5 schools.

We need to be doing whatever it takes to get in the pac. This conference we're in is an absolute disaster. We cannot be left here to rot.

This is not a criticism of Kelly but he doesn't know when "the next major realignment" happens, no one does.

My guess is in the last week he has been on the phone with Tulane, Memphis, UTSA,.. and PAC to see what our options are.

If believe if Tulane and Memphis move on to the PAC, we will try as well

Exactly. He HOPES the next realignment is that far away. His job depends on it.
