Texas will you be in the ACC is number 16 just like Notre Dame now is 15 as a Quasi Indy or in the b1g conference, imo

ACC works because the Longhorn Network in ESPN NFL games against tech and TCU Baylor

UT only danced with the ACC in an attempt to gain leverage to force the PAC to accept the LHN. There is ZERO chance any school from the states of Texas or Oklahoma will join the ACC. Might as well join the MWC to face similar SOS.

NPR had an interesting story on current cable charges today.

ESPN is for most systems more expensive by far than any of the other channels, costing around $5.50 a month for every cable subscriber, whether they watch it or not.

By comparison, CNN is 60 cents.

They mention FOX starting a sports network at about 80 cents per subscriber, and say if it is popular that the price will probably escalate quickly in coming years.

That is why FOX can muscle its way with conference choices.  I think the whole thing may come crashing down with the coming move away from cable and more to individual packaging of video channels.

Great article. The nut being live sports. If I had my way, I'd keep my sports package from September to April only.

But I won't see that in my lifetime. When I worked at Nielsen, it was always interesting when contracts were due and

ratings were scrutinized with a fine tooth comb....'cause you know....we need that extra .00001 point on Lifetime to

set advertising rates.

Between networks and advertisers and networks and NMR. Query after relentless query to prove .... yes, this number is right, this is how many people watch your show, regardless of what YOU'D like to believe. The higher the rating, the more eyes on  that time slot, the higher the advertising rate. At one point, with CBS I believe, renewal was coming right down to the wire and we had to develop a contingency plan to withhold their ratings, the trick being how to release them to others (e.g. NBC wants to compare Monday night 8:00 to 9:00 against CBS & FOX).

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
