Someone shared part of the article (paywall) on r/cfb and I thought this was a very succinct way to say this is what conferences are looking for.

He might have spoken out of turn   And when its comes to grants of rights the detail is in the pudding and it can entail different things. There is no way the wording will be the same as the ACC.  And there is no way Tulane, Memphis, WSU, OSU, Boise State, San Diego State would make it too cumbersome for themselves to get out once the AAC or Big 12 come calling

I think they just want out anyway as everyone does.  Memphis has probably been the most public and overt about it.
