I guess I don't see all the glamor associated with Tulane in Memphis.

They are the two best teams in our conference.  Someone here posted that Tulane had better TV ratings than us either last year or recently and some consider Memphis a better brand than USF (they are on drugs).

they're like our exit buddies. have all been passed over in realignment multiple times. Tulane is a peer academic institution that is neat to affiliate with as well - one of the best national unis!

I think our goal is to dominate whatever league we're in. We've never done that.

I thought I read that the highest ranking conference champions, regardless of league, gets an invite. Our path to that is pretty straightforward in the AAC.

Agreed, once we have our stadium I don't see a lot of gaps.

That's correct but a tougher conference means you get more respect and can climb up the rankings faster with regular conference games. It's what helped the AAC have NY6 dominance. The opposite is what made Liberty the lowest ranked G5 NY6 rep ever, even though they were undefeated and there have been several 1 and 2 loss G5 reps before.

You have to be careful with those conference invites.

Memphis and Tulane don’t really move the needle much for me. Sure, they improve the AAC, but it’s not like they’re bringing FSU and Clemson money or clout to the table. I am guessing this is supported by tv ratings.

Following them to the PAC, if we’re even invited, isn’t worth complicating a potential ACC or B12 (or B1G invite in the event the whole world goes crazy) move in my eyes.

If Tulane and Memphis leave the AAC our shot to make the playoff will diminish drastically as well. We are complaining about our AAC schedule already now; can you imagine that we no longer would have games against them. We need these games for our resume. Unless you can beat Notre Dame or Miami or go undefeated ( Liberty) you are not making the playoffs in this new AAC

Big 12 is not likely ever to invite us. They just added too many West coast teams and already have a Florida team.

There is zero guarantee the ACC will ever invite us.

You take what is certain and what you can get.
