If we can get even a half step up you take it. Just don't be stupid like FSU and lock yourself for decades in this conference.

Does anyone know what the "current" members OSU, WSU and Mtn West teams, agreed to in terms of GOR or buyouts to leave?

Add UNLV?

Its interesting that they only added 4 MW teams at this point. I think that means they will be looking at the AAC before looking at UNLV, Air Force...

if Memphis, Tulane, and UTSA move to the PAC it would force our hand to try to make the move as well.

The last thing we want is to be in an even more watered down AAC. This new PAC would be the fifth best conference and would be a shoe in as fifth conference champion for the playoffs.

Another point is that we are already travelling to Tulsa and San Antonio. How much longer are those flights  to California and Colorado? Maybe an hour. And its not like Philadelphia is close to us either.

Hoping we see someone get that through FOIA requests in the coming weeks.

From what I do know, the PAC does not have membership exit fees. That's why all the teams that left this summer just had to wait for the GOR and didn't owe separate exit fees. But the new membership may vote to put one in place after what the PAC went through.

Whether they get a GOR once the TV deal gets negotiated is a good question.

The Pac-12 could "turn its attention to former members...

This makes sense but highly unlikely.

Feels unlikely. I'm sure they know that had they stayed in the PAC, the only realistic expansion options were these same teams that just got added. That's exactly why they left. They don't want to associate with these teams and know there was more money in the ACC. Even with more travel and a period where they only earn a partial share of the primary rights deal.

The MTN just like the AAC have no GORs. MTN exit fee is 17 million with 2 years notice. I think the AAC is 10 million with 2 years, but not sure.

I bet PAC will be a similar deal, no GOR but an exit fee around 15 million or so.

Thats why my stance is, if the payout is higher and the AAC is losing schools like Memphis and Tulane to it, then we need to consider it as a bridge until a better offer comes from ACC,Big12 or BigTen. We have zero guarantees if and when any of those are coming and staying in a depleted AAC without Memphis, Tulane etc will be an even worse situation we are currently in.

Do I want this PAC version to be our home long term? No., but if it’s better until we get another invite it would be foolish to reject it and stay in an even crappier situation waiting for an invite to come.

Wow this PAC thing is really happening. I say go for it without a GOR. Go to 12 teams - new 6…

USF

UNLV

Memphis

Tulane

UConn

UTSA

P.S. And call it the Pacific Atlantic Conference

I'd take Navy over Uconn if possible.

But I guess if considering basketball...it makes sense.
