Our other sports cant handle this travel and the cost associated are not worth it.

If a best of the rest of the G5 comes together to form a new PAC the money would be more and completely justify the added costs.

Football and basketball are king  and everything else is of less importance. The associated costs is 100 percent worth it.

Can always tinker the schedule to ease these issues. For example have a one week road trip  out West where you play 3 opponents.

yes, football and MBB are king, they are the money makers. If we drop a few sports, who cares.

What happened to the ACC and B12 in your scenarios?

USF still ends up in the ACC. Just waiting out the settlement agreement between ACC & FSU. The Weatherford brothers got this

A whole bunch of folks, including student athletes and the OCR.

Whatever the future holds for football, we have to make sure the any plan works program wide.

The ACC is about to be as watered down as the Pac, if FSU and Clemson get out, they will not be the only ones.

How will the others afford to get out as the settlements will probably be huge. I don’t see the ACC losing much after FSU & Clemson.

It's truly baffling how we continue to be left out. I don't get it.

There's been logical, and painful, reasons that we didn't fall under for every G5 call up to this point. If FAU/Charlotte/UAB gets called up before we do, that would be truly baffling ...

We wont have to drop any sports. We would just have to make adjustments to the scheduling.

And it wouldn't just be beneficial for us in football, but basketball as well. It would make our men's basketball conference loads better as well. We no longer would be a 1 bid, 2 bid at best league anymore.

OSU, WSU, Fresno State, Boise State, SDSU, CSU are the confirmed PAC members

add USF, UTSA, Tulane, Memphis

than add Navy, Air Force, and Army

That's 13 members

add 3 more.

That is a great conference in my opinion.

Sorry it has been proven.  This is not the way.  You take whatever step up you are given.  And then you win there.  Stadiums don't matter, AAU does not matter, media markets hardly matter any more, winning OOC games does not matter.  Conference championships matter, undefeated seasons matter, stands filled with excited fans no matter who the opponent is matters, branding matters.  Liberty could pass us because we are too proud to admit that their scheduling is smarter than ours.  They win a championship and go undefeated because their OOC games are easy.  Their fans are excited about playing where they do.  They went to an NY6 game.  We crow because we gave Bama a game for 3 quarters and then we lose by more than 3 touchdowns.  Sorry I am just fed up with the passive we are too good attitude. This program needs a revival.  We need to stop sitting on our hands. Right now people are talking of Tulane and Memphis (not us) going to a crappy PAC12 rather than stay in the AAC and somehow we are convinced that we will be lifted up in some sort of devine intervention that recognizes us as being worthy of a B10 invite?   Are you happy with the waiting game?  How has that played out so far? SMU was brilliant.  They took action.  It will cost them, and they have suffered a ration of crap as a result,  but in the long run will pay dividends.

Sorry, this latest realignment has me more despondent than ever.

I disagree. I've never had the "passive we are too good attitude". This isn't thinking about being "too good." This is about continuing on the path/trajectory that we're on. We're making strides in our athletic department and we're investing heavily into our facilities and our teams. Jumping ship to another watered down conference - just for the sake of moving - is not the right move. If it put us in a better position, then I'd be for it, but this realignment isn't going to create a new "power conference." So in my opinion it is just a move for the sake of moving. It doesn't get us any closer to our goal and to be honest, we may never reach that goal, but declining a potential invite to the PAC12 isn't going to hurt us either.
