An ACC contingency plan that includes the Huskies, Memphis, Tulane, Wazzu, Oregon State, and USF is at the conceptual level, but it's out there. There's enough out there to still have a conference after a potential Big 12 raid.

Sounds too good to be true ....

What's left would have to supplant itself with depth, but the good news is that some great basketball programs would be left behind -- namely, Duke and Syracuse -- so UConn could have a sensible home in this reimagined ACC.

While the proposed ACC will still have better names than the teams that are our current conference mates, I worry that it will be just be moving from one G level to another.  Yawn.  Some of us don't have twenty or thirty years ahead of us to wait for the whole darn thing to implode and get a chance at moving to a conference people actually want to watch.  I really hate the way this has turned out so far.

Honestly, just grabbed the best of the AAC and MWC, plus PAC2 and UConn. Honestly would be the best G5 conference and a better product than the AAC.

The bar for better product than the AAC is so low,b ut we cant even win our ticket out since creating this dumpster conference. Time to change that.

I can’t help but think that they would “allow” the ACC to keep its power status given that 8 teams would be left behind; it’s not like the PAC2 situation.

Agree.  More like the B12 when they added the four teams after losing their most valuable teams in TX and OK.  ACC will remain an autonomy conference.
